Get to Know Me

shelterwood headshots-116_websize.jpg

My path to becoming a therapist has been rich and varied. With experience in community development, human trafficking intervention, and business transformation, I’ve worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds and stages of life.

My own journey with therapy has been deeply transformative, guiding me from disconnection and suffering to profound healing and self-discovery. This personal growth led me to embrace my calling as a therapist.

The concept of “unfurling” perfectly captures my therapeutic philosophy. Just as a fern unfurls its fronds or a flower blooms, therapy helps you open up and stretch into your full potential.

When I’m not with clients, you might find me dancing, rock climbing, mountain biking, or exploring nature. I cherish the simple joys of life, from foraging wild berries to getting lost in books and podcasts on spirituality, feminism, and business.

Professional qualifications
  • BA in Psychology and International Studies from Texas A&M University

  • MA in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology

Additional training/experience in:

  • Narrative Trauma Therapy - Engaging stories of harm for the purpose of healing led by Dr. Dan Allender and Adam Young

  • The connection between story and sexuality led by Jay Stringer

  • Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size (HAES)

Therapy with Me

I’m passionate about helping you grow into who you truly are, allowing you to craft a life that resonates with your values and desires. My approach is:

Meditate at the beach

Embodied

We’ll integrate mind and body, grounding you in your body and tuning into its innate wisdom.

River Stones

Holistic

You are wonderfully complex! We’ll address the interplay of mind, body, spirit, relationships, and systems, aiming for overall thriving.

Holding Hands

Relational

Change happens through authentic connection. I invite you to be your true self as we work together.

In the forest

Systems-minded

We’ll explore how broader systems—like family dynamics, societal structures, cultural influences, and collective &  generational trauma—shape your identity and experiences.
